United States University is excited to announce that Ms. Rosalie Espino Savella will be the featured speaker at the annual commencement ceremony to be held at the San Diego Marriott Marquis Resort on October 23rd at 10:00am.
Rosalie Espino Savella BSN, RN, CCRN, has 30 years of nursing experience, primarily in Emergency Medicine and Trauma Services. She graduated with her bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Manila Central University in the Philippines and obtained the Health Care Management Certification from Loyola University in Chicago. She has been involved in numerous Rapid Improvement Initiatives that helped earn the Lantern Award and Certification for Geriatrics for Good Shepherd Emergency Department. She was given the Most Valuable Leadership award for her leadership, including developing several ER protocols that help facilitate the care of patients in the Emergency Department.
As the liaison to Health Informatics, she helped make the transitions to Electronic Medical records run smoothly. She facilitated research projects, one of which was the award-winning project on Implementing Guidelines to improve Asthma care among children, coordinating this project while working as PM manager in the ER of a busy Trauma Center of the Loyola Hospital in Illinois. She served in the mission field when she was a young nurse in the Philippines and worked as a staff nurse in the Pediatric Intensive Care unit in the Philippine General Hospital. In addition, her passion for serving the less fortunate fueled her to speak and rally her colleagues to demand a more extensive facility to help more people in dire need.
Most recently, she followed the calling to become a Nurse Practitioner to serve her fullest potential. Today, she will be earning the MSN- FNP degree. She attained all of it while raising a family and working as an ER nurse amid the Pandemic.
