The United States University College of Nursing and Health Sciences (CONHS) proudly established a STTI chapter in April 2022. After over a year of planning and review from the STTI organization, faculty members led the campaign to establish a chapter at USU. With support from Dr. Jennifer Billingsley, CONHS Dean, and Dr. Scott Burrus, USU Provost, members of the honor society established a steering committee whose charge was to start a Sigma Theta Tau International chapter at USU.
The United States University’s chapter became the 605th chapter in the organization. Our chapter name, Alpha Beta Eta, is a result of us being the 605th STTI chapter with the names given sequentially based upon the Greek alphabet. The chartering ceremony took place on April 7th, 2022. During the ceremony, two nurse leader members and 127 new student and alumni members were inducted. Our goal is to induct at least 100 students in the 2022-2023 school year, and at least one nurse leader member.

The mission of the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI), is advancing world health and celebrating nursing excellence in scholarship, leadership, and service.
STTI membership is by invitation to baccalaureate and graduate nursing students who demonstrate excellence in scholarship and to nurse leaders exhibiting exceptional achievements in nursing in one of three areas of scholarship. A nurse leader must demonstrate achievement in one of three main areas; scholarship, leadership, or service and practice.
